Scam-Proof: How to protect yourself
and what to do if you are targeted
This discussion gives you practical tools and ideas to recognize scams before they affect you. You'll learn how common schemes work, what warning signs to watch for, and simple steps to protect yourself and the people you care about.
Pre-Retirement Strategies
Tailored for clients who are proactively thinking ahead to retirement. We’ll cover how your 401(k) can work for you, the pension lump sum vs. monthly annuity decision, backdoor and mega backdoor Roth moves, company stock, and tax-efficient withdrawals tied to your bracket. Our speakers will share all of the advice we have given as you were coming on board as a client. Making sure you are conscious of everything you need to know.
Post-Retirement Strategies
For clients who have already retired and want to keep their post-retirement plan strong. This is a chance for our speakers to go over everything we want you to be conscious of during retirement. We’ll look at when to collect Social Security, how to think about spending, why a market downturn does not have to derail you, what to do with IRA money you may not need, and when life insurance has done its job.
Medicare
We bring in a Medicare expert to answer your questions directly, which makes this a good fit for anyone approaching 65 or sorting out coverage while still working. You will learn when, where, and how to apply, how Medigap plans work, whether you need Part D, and what it all costs. We encourage you to come with your questions!
Estate Planning Essentials and Aging Parents
Perfect for clients thinking through their own estate plan or stepping into the role of caring for aging parents. On the estate side, we cover how trusts work, avoiding probate, revocable vs. irrevocable, and keeping estate taxes in check. For aging parents, we discuss education funding for grandchildren, finances after the loss of a spouse, transitioning into the parent role for your parents, and the documents every family should have in place.
Fundamentals of Investing
A solid starting point for clients who want to get a better understanding of the basics of stocks, bonds, and the stock market. We’ll also review the different types of accounts along with the rules associated with each.
Meet the AdviceOne Fund Selection Team
For clients interested in seeing how their money is actually managed and meeting the team that does the work. We introduce our AdviceOne Fund Selection Team and walk through how we build portfolios, review our equity and fixed income holdings, and how we screen and analyze new funds using a real case study.
Tax Return Office Hours
Built for clients who prepare their own taxes and want fast answers to all of their questions without needing to schedule a separate return phone call or meeting. These weekly 45-minute sessions give you live, one-on-one time with an advisor to get to the bottom of each tax preparation issue you are facing. We also walk through backdoor Roth and IRA contributions, which documents you need and when they'll arrive, and how to read your return.
