3rd Annual AO Charity BBQ!

When: Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 4-7pm

Where: Nevers Park Rotary Pavilion, Chief Ryan Way, South Windsor, CT 06074

Details: Local AO Team members and family are invited to join us at our 3rd annual Charity BBQ, a fun-filled afternoon of getting together and giving back! We will be enjoying delicious BBQ along with some refreshing summer treats, and there will be plenty of activities for kids! In addition, we'll once again be stuffing backpacks for Hands on Hartford, a nonprofit dedicated to serving Hartford's most vulnerable residents. All backpacks we stuff with supplies will go to local students, helping them to start the school year off right!

Please consider donating backpacks/supplies to provide as many students as possible with these much-needed items!
You may also bring donations to the office in advance of the event if you prefer.

New items needed: Backpacks, coloring books, crayons, stickers, colored pencils, pencils, notebooks, folders, erasers, personal pencil sharpeners, rulers, glue sticks, and scissors

Note: Hands on Hartford has asked that the backpacks and supplies we provide are gender-neutral in nature, due to unknown counts of how many boys and girls who will be receiving them. Examples of gender-neutral items are items with a variety of colors, patterns, or animals, or anything red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple. They also ask that we avoid donating thematic items that are more traditionally gendered (barbie, flower prints, superheroes, trucks, etc.).

Please RSVP either way by Tuesday, August 11 for this exciting event!
